The Second Stage: Video-Reel Contest
The information about the contest and its first stage can be found on the website of DVV International Uzbekistan - http://www.dvv-international-central-asia.org/ru/uzbekistan/novosti/
The purpose of the second phase (video-reel contest) is to share with the civil society the effective learning practices and ideas offered by non-formal education organizations during the pandemic.
After the completion of the contest, the links to the most interesting video-reels will be posted on the DVV International Uzbekistan website.
Topics and nominations
The main contest topic "Adult Education vs. COVID-19" can include stories covering different approaches on helping non-formal education organizations to adapt to the pandemic – particularly, psychological, legal, and medical telephone consultations to help people in tackling misinformation and depression; online workshops, distance learning activities for professional and personal skills; conducting motivational contests, informing target groups about useful online resources, and more including creative and innovative types of workplaces. It is important that the submitted video-reel can reflect how education sector transforms in the current circumstances and the role of civil society organizations play in it.
There are three prizes for the submitted video-reels:
- First place - Panasonic HC-V770 (video camera)
- Second place - Sony HDR-CX405 (video camera)
- Third place – SJCAM SJ4000 Air (action camera)
The organizers of the contest reserve the right to announce special nominations and award prizes.
All participants will receive the certificate of participation.
Who can participate
Participation in the contest is open to non-government organizations only (NGOs, NGEO - non-governmental educational organizations). Non-formal initiative groups, particularly temporary creative unions of non-government organizations, can also submit their video-reels during the period of the contest. Video-reels submitted by private individuals will not be considered.

Video-reels will be accepted from June 11 to July 11 (18:00, Tashkent time).
Winners of the contest will be announcement on July 14.
According to the results of the contest, information about the winners will be presented in media and the DVV International Uzbekistan website.
All video-reels or the links to video-reel should be sent by email to the aforementioned electronic address.
In the "subject line" indicate "Video Contest" and the name of organization.
The letter should contain information about the organization or initiative group (full name, address, phone number, email, name of the director and contact person), as well as the title of a video-reel and the link to it. The letter should include the attachment ‘a brief description of a video story’ (not more than one-page A4).
The video-reel can be uploaded to any cloud storage and only the link can be shared with us. The video-reel can be also attached to the e-letter, the size should not exceed the limits for e-messages (maximum 20 MB).
Requirements for a video-reel
Each organization/initiative group can submit only one video-reel.
Video-reels for the contest should be produced independently. It is prohibited to use any material already available on the internet. However, if it is necessary, the usage of separate fragments of other authors is allowed, as long as their copyrights are reserved.
The duration of a video-reel should be not more than 2 to 3 minutes.
Video-reels violating dignity and feelings of other people as well as violating the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan will not be accepted.
Participants select a video-reel format independently (interview, reportage, video clip, chronicles, etc.).
The final version of video-reel should be in one of the following formats:
AVI, MOV, MPEG, MP4, FLV, MKV
Minimal video characteristics:
- Resolution - 720 p (1024 x 768);
- Screen aspect ratio is 16:9;
- Frame rate - min. 24 frames per second (24 fps);
- Frame orientation - horizontal.
Evaluation criteria
Informative aspects:
- Consistency with the thematic of the competition.
- Content of the work (story and its completion, informativeness).
- Originality of the idea and creativity.
- Possibility of applying the project idea in other education organizations.
Technical performance:
- Compliance of the work with the aforementioned technical requirements.
- Accuracy of timekeeping
Copyrights
The copyright of video-reels belongs to the authors.
Organization participating in the contest is responsible for the copyright of the third parties. The DVV International Uzbekistan (organizer) of the contest is not responsible in case if participant violates someone's copyrights.
The organizer has the right to use submitted video-materials in its work.
