“Promoting Gender Transformative Communities through Civil Participation”

Objective: Enabling Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to engage as actors of democratic governance and development.

The project is being implemented by: DVV Branch Office in Uzbekistan in partnership with the Republican Centre for Socio-Economic Development "SABR" of Samarkand.

Project locations:

  • Altynkul district (Andijan region);

  • Peshku district (Bukhara region);

  • Vobkent district (Bukhara region);

  • Akdarya district (Samarkand region);

  • Urgut district (Samarkand region);

  • Gulistan district (Syrdarya region).

Main target groups:

  • 13 local NGOs – 1 Co-Applicant - NCSED “SABR”; 3 NGO counterparts - Andijan branch of NCSED “SABR”, Bukhara branch of the International Organization “Tadbirkor ayol”, NGO “Yangi Uzbekiston Ishbilarmonlari” of Syrdarya region, 9 NGOs under the informal network operating under the umbrella of NCSED “SABR”;

  • around 70 representatives from local authorities, makhallas, community leaders, motivated graduates of vocational courses and active citizens in 6 project locations (Urgut, Akdarya, Peshku, Vobkent, Oltinkul, Gulistan districts);

  • 720 vulnerable women living in rural areas;

  • around 50 media representatives;

  • around 1000 participants of conferences, roundtables and public campaigns (representatives of state institutions, makhallas, community leaders, graduates of vocational courses, media, local population, active citizens etc.).

Beneficiaries:

  • 3000 citizens living in selected makhallas.

  • citizens living in Uzbekistan.
