TogetheR Unite efforts for regional StabiliTy (TRUST)

(co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ))

The regional project is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan and aims to promote a culture of peace in the Ferghana Valley while fostering cooperation and partnerships between regions and organizations.

Project Details:

  • Duration: 24 months, February 01, 2024 – January 31, 2026
  • Lead Applicant: Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV International)

In Uzbekistan, the partner for project implementation is the NGO "Center for Social and Legal Support of Women and Children 'Mekhrjon'" from Fergana.
The project locations are in the city of Kuvasay and the Besharik district of the Fergana region.

Project Objectives:

Enhance sustainable peace in border areas of Fergana Valley through promoting a peace culture.

Enhance operational and institutional capacity of civil society actors for effective conflict and violence prevention.

Empower border communities for peaceful coexistence and cross-border confidence building.

Strengthen resilience to violent and radical rhetoric through awareness and public outreach.

Target Groups in Fergana Region:

  • 6 civil society organizations working with youth, women, and peacebuilding.
  • 14 community leaders shaping public opinion in the project’s target areas.
  • Local population (men and women) living in border communities.
