Tashkent evenings: summation and prospects

‘Review of activities 2019 and outlook 2020’ was the topic of the annual event of the DVV International in Uzbekistan "Tashkent evenings", which took place on December 20, 2019. The event united our friends and partners which shared common memories of the outgoing year. The event began with the presentation of the main achievements of the year:  
- With the support of the British Embassy in partnership with "Oila" Center and NGO "INTILISH" the project "Social adaptation of ex-prisoners in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was implemented.   

- Another cultural center (the third location) was equipped in Quvasai, and new vocational courses opened for the population.

- In partnership with the Oila Center, the study on public participation in adult education was conducted. The research findings will be used to prepare the first national report on ALE. 

- Recommendations on the new version of the Education Act were prepared and submitted. 

- Innovation Fund projects were implemented (in Bukhara, Navoi, Namangan and Fergana). 

- the Institute for Pedagogical Innovation, Retraining and Continuing Education of Leadership and Pedagogical Staff in Vocational Education supported institutionalization of the Curriculum GlobALE programme (staff training, supported development of e-learning platform, etc.). 

 - The Republican Center for Socio-Economic Development "SABR" with the support of the DVV International Uzbekistan and other partners organized international forum "The Role of Central Asian Women in Solution of Social Problems of the XXI Century" and a contest of journalists in Samarkand. 

- The Surkhandarya Social-Educational Center "Barkaror Hayot" conducted training courses for representatives of law enforcement agencies and probation services. 

- Overall, a number of partners from both public and civil society sectors increased during the year.  
 
Talking about the prospective activities in 2020, Tatiana Zaichenko, Director of the DVV International Uzbekistan, emphasized that almost all partners will be involved in various projects, and new thematic areas will be included.
