Successful stories: the experience of projects synergy in 2019

The DVV International in Uzbekistan focuses on strengthening the capacity of partner organizations and promotes synergy among its partners. A successful result of such synergy is the cooperation between national partners, NGO Mehrjon (Fergana) and the Cultural Center of Quvasai city.

In the framework of the project "Promoting capacity-building of cultural centers", the DVV International Uzbekistan contributed to strengthening the center's technical basis and supported professional courses (modeling, tailoring and sewing; decorative and applied arts; basic computer skills, etc.) as well as professional development courses (personal development, etc.).

In the same region, in 2019, DVV International supported the NGO Mehrjon project ‘Mobile Social Service’ designed to provide legal, psychological and social assistance to vulnerable women, target group included women from poor and low-income families, unemployed, single mothers and mothers with several child living in rural areas of Fergana valley. The NGO "Mehrjon" proposed that the cultural center of Quvasai city should join efforts. The cultural center provided vocational courses for unemployed women in the city of Kuvasai and surrounding areas, and NGO enriched the courses with educational activities and counselling services. The partners not only complemented each other, but also jointly contributed to providing quality educational services for vulnerable groups of the population. Access to education services is a crucial element in contributing to development of the well-being of the population, especially in the rural areas.
