Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the DVV International Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the project on advancing the capacity of the cultural centers of the Republic of Uzbekistan is implemented. The aim of the project is to develop informal education system and adult education policy in the regions of Uzbekistan. AS regards, DVV International applies innovative approaches, including training and seminars on improving professional capacity of the cultural centers and their satellite branches as well as providing vocational courses for the population and conducting outreach activities. The DVV International Uzbekistan cooperates with three cultural centers of Namangan region, Karshi district and Kuvasai city.
On March 5, 2020, a seminar was held in Tashkent with the participation of all three cultural centers. During the seminar results of the joint work were summarized and the prospects of further cooperation were discussed. Directors, coordinators, methodologists, teachers, mentors and trainers involved into the project activates, from all locations attended the event.
Each cultural center presented its work over the project period. Afterwards, participants were divided into small groups to discuss and present obstacles on the way to further development of education services as well as to present their suggestions and ideas on how ideal culture center should be like and what can be done now with available resources to make it happen. As a result, respective measures were discussed to ensure sustainability of accomplishments in order to make education services more profitable and addressing requirements of the population. Results of the seminar formed the basis for planning joint activities for the period 2021-2023.
