On 30 April and 1 May, adult learning and education experts from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan gathered in Tashkent to discuss opportunities for trilateral cooperation.
The event was organised by DVV International's Regional Office for Central Asia. Piloting of the programme in the Central Asian region started in 2013 in Uzbekistan, followed by Tajikistan in 2017 and Kyrgyzstan in 2019.
Public sector providers directly linked to adult learning and education were mainly involved in the implementation of the programme in the countries.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the Kyrgyz State University named after I.Arabaev, Osh State University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Adult Education Association of Tajikistan, NGO "Khurshed", NGO "Tomiris".
The key partner from Uzbekistan is the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The participants considered the possibilities of conducting joint research and practice conferences on adult learning and education, workshops for the programme's graduates from all three countries as well as round tables to further promote the programme. Moreover, they discussed the possibility of creating a regional online platform Curriculum globALE, which would allow distance learning of andragogy in national languages. The workshop was a good step towards co-operation and development. Let's think, discuss and move forward together!
