Prevention of human trafficking among youth

“Prevention of human trafficking among young people by preparing for the integration of young migrants in the Namangan region in the countries of destination with the goal of successful labor migration” is one of the projects supported by the DVV Branch of Uzbekistan under the Innovation Fund-2019 Program.

Changing lifestyles, difficult working conditions, isolation from the family, lack of knowledge of the language and one’s rights often lead to a drop in the self-esteem of migrants, psychological and physical ill health, and breaking family ties. Recognizing migration as a reality, respecting the choice made by migrants and their significant contribution to the country's economy, it is necessary to do everything possible so that they can realize their goals and lead a decent civilized life in the host countries. The Namangan branch of the Republican Social Information Center "Istiqbolli Avlod" undertook to carry out this task with the existing experience of working with affected migrants, including using the Hot Line. For the implementation of the project idea, areas with a large number of migrants were selected: Papsky, Chustsky, Kasansai and Namangan: training for youth mentors (parents, mahalla activists, youth organizations, school psychologists, 75 in total) discussed the conditions for a successful migrant organizations, which could help prepare for migration, mentors will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in their work with young people.
