Further training for employees of the DVV International in Uzbekistan on cybersecurity

A two-day workshop in Tashkent on cybersecurity for media professionals and civil society representatives, organized by the Canadian organization SecDev Foundation in partnership with the Center for Retraining Journalists and the Center for the Study of Regional Threats of Uzbekistan, was held on August 8-9, 2019.

Jasur Ergashev, an employee of the DVV International in Uzbekistan, took part in this seminar along with representatives of various electronic and print media: kultura.uz, the Klass newspaper, the popular news channel kun.uz, the editorial board of Uzbekistan News "and others. Among the topics discussed at the seminar were:

• The role of the media in civil society;
• How to use digital security to counter terrorism and extremism?
• Types of viruses that can damage social networks;
• Software for password security and protection against cyber attacks.

The organizers used various teaching methods, including intellectual games, and gave participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and experiences. At the end of the second day, trainers recommended programs to ensure the safe operation of smartphones and computers, as well as handed out USB flash drives with useful information about cyber hygiene. Each participant received a certificate confirming participation in the seminar.
