Expanding Geographical Coverage of DVV International Projects on the development of cultural centers in the regions of Uzbekistan

The project "Promoting the Development of Cultural Centers of the Republic of Uzbekistan" has been implemented by DVV International since 2015. Within the framework of this project, technical and expert support is provided to cultural centers in the cities of Namangan (Namangan region) and Karshi (Kashkadarya region). The main objective of this activity is the introduction of innovative approaches and increasing the effectiveness of the informal system of adult education and training in the regions of Uzbekistan. To date, the organizational potential of both Centers has been strengthened and the range of educational services aimed at different categories of students has been expanded, with a focus on women and young people from socially vulnerable groups. In 2019, the third Center of Culture in the city of Kuvasay (Ferghana Region) was included in the project, which, after receiving technical assistance (equipment, furniture, training equipment) and methodological support for adult education and training, successfully launched a number of educational programs to increase computer literacy; modeling, cutting and sewing clothes; arts and crafts for the local population. The project also provides courses, seminars and round tables to improve the skills of the employees themselves, the administration of the Center, as well as nearby cultural centers.
