The Office of DVV International in the Republic of Tajikistan promotes the concept of Community Learning Centers (CLCs).

“For the residents of Georgia, Community Learning Centers are a second home. They feel free, they even have time for dancing and singing. Elderly people also visit these centers to master new professions. We can adapt this practice stage by stage in the branches of the State Institution “Adult Training Center of Tajikistan” (ATC)”.

A delegation from Tajikistan visited Georgia to learn about the country's experience in ALE. This trip took place in September 5 – 12, 2022 with the support of the Country Office of the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV International) in Tajikistan and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

14 people attended the trip from among the representatives of the branches of ATC in Dushanbe, districts of republican subordination, Sughd and Khatlon regions, as well as employees of the Country office of DVV International in Tajikistan and a local public organization.

According to Gulnora Rakhmanova, an employee of the Country Office of DVV International in Tajikistan, the purpose of the trip was to study the experience, programs and technologies of Georgia in ALE. She noted that the delegation of Tajikistan studied the activities of the centers of Georgia, and probably in the future this experience can be adapted to the culture and traditions of Tajikistan and applied for the benefit of all.

“The results of the work and mastery of trainees in Georgia are sent to the exhibition and sales. Then the received profit is used for the needs of the centers. CLCs in Georgia are considered not only as educational institutions, but also as public places where people come and communicate with each other. This experience can be successfully implemented in the branches of the ATC", - said Gulnora Rakhmanova.

She noted that the Tajik delegation visited CLCs in Tbilisi, Batumi, Jvari, Kakheti, Tetri-Tskaro and Ambrolauri. In general, the delegation of Tajikistan had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of six similar centers. According to Rakhmanova, one of the peculiarities of the centers is that along with the local residents, refugees and migrants are also can participate in the trainings.

Another feature of the centers of Georgia, the delegation of Tajikistan highlighted that the centers have had several sources of investment. Along with state support and support from local businessmen, CLCs also receive material assistance from local residents, stated Gulnora Rakhmanova.

Malika Sobirjanova, an employee of the public organization “Tomiris”, which is a partner organization of the DVV International Country Office in Tajikistan, says that she intends to maintain constant contact with the CLCs of Georgia. According to Sobirjanova, this endeavor will contribute to a greater exchange of experience.

The Country Office of DVV International in Tajikistan has been closely cooperating with the ATC since its inception in the direction of improving the educational services for socially vulnerable segments of the population, such as the unemployed, prisoners, women, youth and persons with disabilities.

Over the past 5 years, the DVV International County Office in Tajikistan has been promoting the concept of CLC (Community Learning Center). To date, 4 CLCs have been established to provide life skills and vocational training courses for vulnerable youth and adults in Nurek, Guliston, Sebiston and Vahdat on the basis of branches of the State Institution "Adult Education Center of Tajikistan".

The trip of the Tajik delegation to Georgia took place on September 5 – 12, 2022 was also carried out as part of the promotion of the CLC concept in Tajikistan.
