A three-day training workshop on theory and practice of strategic planning was conducted for the project partners “Bureau of Human Rights and Rule of Law” (BHR) and “Jahon”. It was conducted in February 23-25, 2021, in Dushanbe. The training-workshop was conducted by experienced local trainer. 14 representatives of the partner organisations attended the workshop.
The organizer of this event was Country office of the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association (DVV International) in Tajikistan within the framework of the project "Promoting Access to Social, Economic, and Cultural Rights to Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners in Tajikistan" (SECRET 3 ), funded by the European Union the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

During the workshop each partner organisation practiced drafting their Strategic Plans for future 3 years with the help of the trainer. Workshop participants noted importance of the event as they need to develop their strategic plans by taking into account risks of COVID-19 and how to come up with these types of risks. The trainees developed strategic plans taking into account the following main factors: analysis of the significant environment, donors / customers, partners, competitors, opponents, opportunities and obstacles, strengths and weaknesses of the organization, key success factors, setting strategic goals, examination of project ideas, fundraising, work plan -schedule for the implementation of the strategic plan.
All participants discussed the value of Strategic Planning for the organisations. Trainer helped them to write clearly their Mission, Vision and identify primary objectives.
Workshop on strategic planning allowed the staff of partner organizations, including their branches obtain planning knowledge and skills and share ownership in drafting, finalization, approval and implementation of these mid-term strategic plans. As a result of the workshop a 3-year strategic plans aimed at organizational sustainability developed for two partner organizations.
