Strategies That Protect – Economic and Social Rights of Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina

As part of the project "Women's Rights Ambassadors for Empowerment and Change in Bosnia and Herzegovina", funded by the European Union, 12 strategic documents have been developed focusing on the protection of economic and social rights of women from vulnerable groups.

These documents are the result of months of work by local stakeholders, experts, and civil society representatives. Their significance lies in the fact that they offer concrete measures and guidelines for improving the status of women in local communities, particularly in the areas of employment, education, healthcare, and social security.

The strategic documents were developed in the following local communities:

Una-Sana Canton: Bihać, Bosanski Petrovac, Cazin, Bužim

Tuzla Canton: Srebrenik, Tuzla, Živinice, Lukavac

Birač Region: Srebrenica, Bratunac, Vlasenica, Milići

These local documents represent an important step toward a systemic approach to the protection of women's rights and serve as tools for advocacy and the adoption of concrete policies that will contribute to real changes in the lives of women across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The development of strategic documents is not merely a technical process – it is an expression of political will and social responsibility to recognize women from vulnerable groups as equal members of the community.

The project "Women's Rights Ambassadors for Empowerment and Change in Bosnia and Herzegovina" is funded by the European Union and implemented by DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with the Center for Education and Research NAHLA and the Association SARA-Srebrenica.
