The latest addition to the DVV International Family, the Regional Office South Asia, based in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka. invokes blessings for the success as they are ready to work diligently to serve the Adult Education Sector of the Region.
Sri Lanka; is regarded as the home of the pure Theravada form of Buddhism, the DVV team were blessed with the essence of the pirit ceremony; consists in the ritualistic chanting of certain Pali texts followed by blessings of Buddhist monks. These were invoked as a sign of gratitude to everyone contributed towards the establishment of new Regional Office of DVV International in Colombo.
On a newly assembled hearth, a pot of milk was cooked until it overflowed. The milk and overflowing have always alluded to prosperity and good fortune in Sri Lankan culture as milk being viewed as opulence in Asia.
The timely ceremony further signifies a new journey for the organization - DVV International in South Aisa officially assuming it’s duties. Together with Sri Lankan staff of DVV International, Representatives of other German and partner organizations & Ms. Claudia Goergen, the Head of finance of DVV International head Quarters in Bonn also graced the occasion.
