DVV International Board Delegation Visits German Embassy in Colombo for Dialogue on Lifelong Learning and Youth Empowerment

representatives of DVV International met with officials of the German Embassy in Colombo for discussions on lifelong learning, youth empowerment, and inclusive development approaches in Sri Lanka.

The meeting brought together representatives of the German Embassy, Esther Hirsch, Executive Director of DVV International, DVV/VHS Board Members Martin Rabanus and Arne Zielinski, Sonja Belete, Regional Director for South Asia, and the DVV International Sri Lanka team.

Discussions focused on practical approaches that combine career guidance, non formal skills development, entrepreneurship support, coaching, and community based learning pathways for youth and adults.

Particular attention was given to creating meaningful opportunities for young people who are outside formal education and employment systems, while strengthening long term institutional cooperation and sustainable learning structures within Sri Lanka.

The exchange also highlighted the importance of dialogue, international cooperation, and partnerships in strengthening inclusive lifelong learning opportunities connected to local realities and community needs.
