DVV International Sri Lanka, together with the Department of Agriculture, has started working on promoting more adult friendly learning materials for learners and instructors within the agricultural sector.
Research in Adult Learning and Education continues to show that practical, visually engaging, and context based learning materials significantly improve participation, understanding, and long term knowledge retention among adult learners.
However, many existing learning materials are still heavily text based and designed primarily for formal classroom settings rather than for practical learning environments and community contexts.
The initiative therefore focuses on developing materials that are simpler, more practical, visually engaging, and directly connected to the experiences of adult learners and field practitioners.
By strengthening the quality and accessibility of learning materials, the initiative aims to support more inclusive, engaging, and effective lifelong learning opportunities across Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector.
