DVV International Sri Lanka, together with the Department of Agriculture, successfully conducted the first batch of a four day residential facilitation workshop for agricultural extension officers representing different regions of Sri Lanka.
The workshop focused on participatory facilitation methods, Adult Learning and Education approaches, communication skills, Training Needs Assessment tools, and interactive learning techniques relevant to agricultural extension work and community engagement.
Participants engaged in group activities, reflective learning sessions, practical exercises, digital learning tools, and experience sharing sessions that encouraged collaborative learning and peer exchange.
The programme created space for officers to reflect on how agricultural extension practices can move beyond traditional one directional teaching approaches towards more participatory and community centred learning environments.
The initiative forms part of the continued collaboration between DVV International Sri Lanka and the Department of Agriculture in strengthening lifelong learning approaches within Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector.
