As part of the visit of the DVV International Board Delegation to Sri Lanka, representatives of DVV International visited the Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET) for discussions on future collaboration, skills development, and lifelong learning pathways in Sri Lanka.
The meeting brought together D.W. Marabage, Director General of DTET, Principal Vindya Imbulpitiya, officials of DTET, Esther Hirsch, Executive Director of DVV International, DVV/VHS Board Members Martin Rabanus and Arne Zielinski, Sonja Belete, Regional Director for South Asia, and the DVV International Sri Lanka team.
During the discussions, DTET shared its future vision and institutional priorities related to technical and vocational education, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen practical learning opportunities, institutional quality, and access to skills development across the country.
The exchange created space for discussions on employability, non formal learning pathways, and the importance of connecting technical education more closely with community needs and changing labour market realities.
DVV International Sri Lanka continues to work together with government institutions through a system building approach that supports stronger cooperation between sectors, improved learning pathways, and more inclusive opportunities for youth and adults across Sri Lanka.
