ALE Network MOU Signed

Throughout its over 20 years presence in Armenia The DVV International Armenia Country Office has cooperated with several institutions in the field of adult education that operate both in Yerevan and regions of Armenia.

On July 15, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Stepanavan that united 17 organizations operating in the field in their intention to join efforts in promoting participation in ALE and establishing and strengthening an ALE cooperation network in Armenia to that end.

Based on the MoU, the network members agreed to:

  • Formulate and uphold a unified vision and concept of ALE development,
  • Promote policy and legislative reforms,
  • Increase public awareness about ALE,
  • Improve the accessibility and quality of ALE services.

This initiative is a step towards a more institutionalized and cooperative ALE sector ensuring accessible, high quality and continuing adult education.

Network members also agreed to the following actions:

  • By the end of 2025, adopt a unified strategic approach for developing the ALE network and mechanisms for its expansion.
  • In 2026, jointly implement awareness-raising and advocacy actions.
  • In 2027, take part in decision-making processes related to the network’s further expansion and legal status (e.g., establishment of an association).

On July 16, representatives of the network member organizations jointly discussed the network’s development concept and strategy and outlined the main priorities of the strategy.
