Adult Education Decade – 2025 under the slogan “Skills for Life, Education for the Future”

From 29 September to 8 October 2025, Kyrgyzstan hosted the fifth Adult Education Decade, bringing together dozens of organizations and thousands of participants across the country.

Throughout the Decade, more than 50 events were held in all regions of the country, including:

  • Open Days at libraries and Adult Learning Centers;
  • Master classes and workshops on ecology, financial and digital literacy;
  • Job and education fairs and thematic exhibitions;
  • Round tables and expert discussions.

A key part of the program was the meetings of Social Partnership Councils, aimed at strengthening the link between the education system and the labor market. Representatives of government bodies, employers, and educational institutions in the regions discussed ways to work together to enhance the skills and qualifications of the adult population.

This year, special attention was given to environmental and digital literacy. The “Digital Express” campaign, held in seven regions, helped participants master practical online tools and gain access to electronic public services.

The Job and Education Fair in Bishkek brought together a large number of employers and training providers, opening up new opportunities for learning and employment.

The scientific-practical conference on the development of andragogy and the foresight session “Planning for Tomorrow” became key expert platforms where participants discussed trends and priorities for the future of adult education in Kyrgyzstan.

The Adult Education Decade is more than just a series of events — it is a movement that promotes lifelong learning and shows that learning has no age limit. Knowledge and skills open up new opportunities for employment, improved quality of life, civic engagement, and personal development.
