The symposium “Adult Education and Continuous Learning in Empowering Individuals and Communities: Concept and Practice” was held at Dead Sea from September 17 to 19, 2025, organized by the German Adult Education Association.
Bringing together leaders and experts from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development, Registry of Associations Bureau, the UNESCO Jordanian National Commission, the University of Jordan’s Faculty of Educational Sciences, and partner civil society organizations, the event highlighted successful international models in adult education and addressed its cultural, historical, economic, and social dimensions.
The Ministry of Education presented a draft bylaw on adult education and continuous learning as a framework for development. Discussions further explored the role of associations and academia for empowered adult learners in Jordan.
The symposium concluded with a shared commitment to advancing adult education nationally and academically, emphasizing its crucial role in building a sustainable learning society.
