On 11 July 2023, the DVV International Country Office in Moldova organized a workshop in the context of Adult Learning and Education Platform (ALE) entitled: "Updates to the Education Code and mapping perspectives in policy development". It is important to mention that the ALE Platform was launched on 7 June 2022 as a space for dialogue in the field of education policies, more specifically Adult Learning and Education. The aim of the event was to discuss the changes contained in the Education Code as well as the development strategy "Education 2030" seen from a double perspective: that of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova and that of civil society. The event was attended by members of the ALE Platform, public sector, and civil society organizations - interested in developing Adult Learning and Education. Marcelina Baleca, Head of Lifelong Learning Service of the Ministry of Education and Research and Liliana Posțan, PhD, university teacher, Sectoral Committee for Vocational Training in Commerce, Hotels and Restaurants (CSFPCHR) were the keynote speakers.
During the event, participants presented their views on discussed topics, stressing the importance of such a discussion platform for the field of Adult Learning and Education (ALE), which is currently the only one of its kind. The exchange of views helped to clarify some of the uncertainties and doubts regarding the documents discussed, as well as to present the participants' views and suggestions on approaching and implementing policies in the ALE sub-sector.
Further meetings of ALE Platform are planned until the end of 2023. Beforehand, an analysis of the different aspects of the ALE field will be carried out to select the most relevant and interesting topics to be addressed in the planned workshops.
The activity is part of the Project "Professionalization of Adult Education Centres in Europe", implemented with the financial assistance of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
