From 29 to 30 June 2026, DVV International Moldova organised a two-day strategic planning workshop for the Resource Centre for Continuing Education (CRFC) at Moldova State University. Nicolai Loghin and Tudor Lazăr from the Center for Organizational Consultancy and Training (CICO) facilitated the workshop.
The event brought together fifteen representatives of academia, including not only representatives of the Centre, but also heads of other departments, most of them from the Faculty of Psychology, Education Sciences, Sociology and Social Work, to collaborate on the creation of a new future-oriented strategic plan for the Resource Centre for Continuing Education.
The aim of the workshop was to support the Centre in redefining its strategic objectives for the next five years and developing a concrete action plan to transform the CRFC into an educational institution that is more open to new target groups and offers a broader diversity of programmes.
On the first day, the participants joined forces to develop a shared vision for the Centre. They reflected on what an effective and robust adult learning institution should look like. They then assessed the Centre's current situation, identifying its existing strengths, challenges, and development priorities. The day concluded with a synthesis of the discussions and an interim evaluation, as well as preparation for the strategic planning activities scheduled for the second day.
On the second day, the focus was on planning the next steps, which involved translating the identified priorities into concrete strategic actions. Participants developed an initial draft of the Centre's strategic plan, prioritising the key actions required to achieve the new vision. Particular attention was given to implementation mechanisms and monitoring arrangements, as well as to the preparation of an action plan for the first 30 days after the workshop.
The workshop provided an opportunity for collaborative reflection and strategic dialogue, thereby strengthening the Resource Centre for Continuing Education's institutional capacity to respond to the growing and often unarticulated learning needs of adults in the Republic of Moldova. Through a participatory planning process, participants established a shared vision and a practical framework to guide the Centre's future development, with the aim of improving the quality and diversity of educational opportunities offered by the Centre.
