Opening new pathways for entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka

A new chapter begins.

DVV International Sri Lanka and the National Enterprise Development Authority Sri Lanka have come together to shape stronger pathways from learning to livelihoods—connecting skills, ideas, and opportunity in a more meaningful way.

This collaboration was marked together with Lakshman Abeysekera, Chairman and Director General of NEDA, reflecting a shared belief that entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, but about building confidence, resilience, and direction in people’s lives.

At its heart, this partnership focuses on individuals who are still searching for their next step; those not in employment, education or training. Through practical learning, coaching, and continuous support, the aim is to help turn potential into real, sustainable income opportunities.

This work unfolds on the ground, in districts such as Ampara District and Puttalam District, where learning is closely linked with local economies and everyday realities.

Behind this effort stands the continued cooperation of the Embassy of Germany Colombo, whose support makes it possible to take these steps forward.
