On November 15th - 17th the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and the dvv international Representative office in Uzbekistan were organising the National "Adult Education" Forum at the " POYTAXT" Business Centre.
Forum was being organised with the participation and support of the Ministries of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Public Education, Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Testing Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academy of State and Public Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the project "Social partnership in the provision of employment" implemented by UNDP in Uzbekistan, Association for the harmonious development of adults and young people in Uzbekistan (Adult Education Association Uzbekistan).
The aim of the Forum was to discuss the development opportunities of Lifelong Adult Education in Uzbekistan.
The Forum programme was implemented in plenary and section sessions, seminars, workshops, master-classes and workshops.
The section sessions were discussing the following questions:
- State policies on Adult Education: Management and cooperation sectors;
- Social Partnership in Adult Education;
- Ensuring quality of the Adult Education;
- Adult Education programmes for the broad public.
The Forum participants exchanged experience in the field of Adult Education, discussed current problems, possible solutions, formulated problems and prospects, as well as developed mechanisms to ensure wider cooperation of formal and informal education sectors and the development of social partnership.
In addition to the main activitiy of the Forum in Tashkent - training seminar for school teachers on "Project activities in the informational education environment in the 21st Century" (November, 14th - 18th) was held in the secondary school № 59, and the seminar on "Environmental Adult Education" was implemented at November the 17th - 18th at the Business Centre "POYTAXT".
The forum was supposed to adopt a document containing policy recommendations for further development of legal framework, improving governance, funding and quality of adult education in our country.
