Managers of Adult Education Organizations and Institutions in Focus: Curriculum ManagerALE Opens a New Chapter in Professional Development!

From September 10 to 12, 2025, the first of six modules of the professional development program for managers of adult education organizations and institutions – Curriculum ManagerALE – was held in Sarajevo. The Curriculum ManagerALE educational program is tailored to the local context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Economics (EFSA), and is implemented by DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina, in collaboration with the Council for Adult Education of Sarajevo Canton.

The first module, titled "Fundamental Knowledge on Lifelong Learning and Adult Education", brought together representatives of adult education organizations and institutions from Sarajevo Canton. Over the course of three days, participants had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of key topics in the field of adult education through interactive lectures, discussions, and practical tasks.

Assistant Professor Dr. Amina Isanović Hadžiomerović, a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, led the module. Through a structured approach, she presented thematic units:

  • multisectoral approach and financing of adult education,
  • organizational development and professional ethics,
  • adult participation in learning,
  • educational program design based on the ADDIE model,
  • methods of working with adults and communication processes,
  • technical and didactic adaptation of content for online and hybrid teaching.

The module concluded with a reflection session and guidelines for participants’ independent work, serving as preparation for the upcoming modules.

The Curriculum ManagerALE program represents an important step toward the professionalization of management in the field of adult education and the strengthening of the capacities of organizations and institutions active in this area.
