DVV International and Department of Agriculture Partner to Advance Lifelong Learning

DVV International Sri Lanka has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Agriculture to strengthen the implementation of the Lifelong Learning Model in the agriculture sector. The agreement was signed by Dr. W.A.R.T. Wickramaarachchi

Director General of Agriculture, and Nadeesha Palliyaguru, Program Coordinator of DVV International Sri Lanka Country Office.

Agriculture continues to play a vital role in Sri Lanka’s economy and offers significant potential for young people and adults who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET). By integrating lifelong learning approaches, the partnership aims to modernize agricultural skills, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

This collaboration also supports the government’s broader goals to modernize and diversify agriculture, creating stronger systems that connect learning, employment, and innovation for rural communities.
