The training within the Curriculum globALE programme on “Communication and group dynamics in adult education” (Module 3) was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from March 13 to 16, 2020
The seminar was conducted by a trainer team from Uzbekistan Ms. Iroda Ismailova and Mr. Nadir Ergashev, who graduated Curriculum GlobALE (CG) while its implementation in Uzbekistan in 2013-2014 and became certified CG trainers.
The educational process was organised on the base of modern approaches and training methods, including role-playing games, multimedia presentations, work in small groups, joint discussions, implementation of practical tasks and exercises, energizers and active games. The proposed forms and training methods were aimed at developing practical skills among the participants in creating positive and effective communication with adult audiences. Interactive methods allowed participants to obtain information in conjunction with direct comparison with their current practice. They were introduced to theoretical communication principles, rules of verbal, paraverbal and non-verbal communication, basics of group dynamics and its main stages in establishing educational process for adult audience, role of positive communication, importance of identifying and removing communicative “barriers” in a timely manner. The expertise of trainers contributed to a coordinated and efficient work process.
The third module of the CG-Programme includes various methods and techniques, such as the Graham Pyramid, non-violent communication by M. Rosenberg, team building methods from M. Gellert and K. Novak, I. Tallen's classification of styles, group learning process by J. Wagner, the Riemann-Tomann model, active listening by Schulz von Thun and a review of other international researchers and practitioners of adult education.
Having received such a “baggage of wisdom”, the participants are encouraged to use it in their daily training practice.
