Within the framework of the project "Optimization of library space for adult education" from August 24 to September 5, 2020, an Online Seminar was held on the topic: "Modern formats of educational activities in public libraries."
The purpose of this event was to create conditions for self-determination of librarians as trainers in adult education, as well as the possibility of mastering andragogical features in the educational system of adults.
27 librarians from all regions of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek, Kant, Karakol, Naryn, Talas, Batken, Jalal-Abad, Osh - took part in the online training.
Each library presented presentations on organizing events for an adult audience.
An interesting element of this seminar was the fact that the participants of another project “Curriculum Globale” of DVV international Kyrgyzstan were involved as trainers.
The training was visually divided into two main parts, one of which was devoted to andragogy, which reveals the specific patterns of mastering knowledge and skills by an adult subject of educational activity, as well as the peculiarities of the leadership of this activity by a trainer-librarian. Topics such as:
"Psychological aspects of adult education" - this topic gave a large portion for thought and understanding to the librarian, had the opportunity to get acquainted with the basic principles of modern learning theory, to get specific information on how to organize "dynamic" learning; replenish your knowledge with dozens of short intervention techniques and techniques;
"Principles and approaches in adult education" - the topic of the next day of study, which gave the basic principles of andragogy, according to which the adult learner has a leading role in the learning process. As a mature person, he sets himself specific learning goals and strives for independence, self-realization, self-government, an important formula - we study not for school, but for life, is as relevant as possible.
"Communication and group dynamics in adult education" is a topic that explores the positive and negative forces that operate in the group. Socio-psychological processes that bring a group to certain states through various group mechanisms and ensure its formation, functioning and development.
Adult Learning Methods is the topic of the fourth day of training. As a rule, adults want to learn if they see the need for learning and the opportunity to apply its results to improve their performance. In addition, they strive to actively participate in the process, bring their own experience and their life values into the learning situations, try to correlate the learning situation with their goals and objectives. We all understand that a mature person has many responsibilities - family, social, and therefore studies on the job. Adults learn new knowledge and skills at different rates, so they need individual training, increased self-esteem and self-esteem.
And the second part of the training was devoted to teaching the library audience the practical things that will have to deal with in everyday working days.
When starting to master the hitherto remote topics for librarians of Kyrgyzstan, it is important to apply certain experience that has been gained by each library; some have this little experience in providing a platform for the local community in various thematic areas - "Saima Sayuu" in the Osh Regional Children's Library, exclusive jewelry-earrings in the Naryn regional library named after S. Orozbakov, making artificial bouquets, decorating a festive table with a beautiful cut in the Talas regional library, in the Issyk-Kul regional library a master class on floriculture.
A large and useful experience in this direction was presented to the colleagues of the Chui Regional Library "Useful skills of the library's work with the local community."
In this library, the collective has been operating educational sites for more than 10 years, this is computer literacy, 1C International Accounting Standards, training of an assistant secretary, language courses (English, Kyrgyz, Russian, Korean), circle activities-painting on stone, chiy kuurchak , Kyrgyz ornaments narrate, mats making, the work of the Center for People with Disabilities, Laboratory of Ideas.
