Monitoring Visit and Roundtable in the Syrdarya Region
Monitoring visit of representatives of DVV International Uzbekistan jointly with NCSED “SABR” to the Syrdarya Region and a roundtable with project stakeholders.
Within the framework of the project co-financed by the European Union (European Union in Uzbekistan) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) (Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)), and implemented by DVV International Uzbekistan in partnership with NCSED “SABR”, a monitoring visit to the Syrdarya Region and a roundtable with project stakeholders were conducted.
At the regional level, the project was implemented with the support of the non-governmental non-profit organization “Yangi Uzbekiston Ishbilarmonlari”.
On 8 January 2026, in the city of Gulistan, a roundtable entitled “Promoting Gender Transformative Territories in Communities: Presentation of Project Results, Findings of the External Survey, and Discussion of Future Cooperation Perspectives” was held. The event brought together representatives of the Ishonch and Mevazor mahallas, graduates of vocational courses, and partner civil society organizations.
During the meeting, key project results, findings of the socio-economic and gender analysis, as well as conclusions and recommendations of the external survey were presented.
Particular attention was paid to the practical application of the handbook “Step by Step to Gender-Transformative Territories/Communities.”
Participants discussed sustainability issues and confirmed their readiness to continue applying gender-transformative approaches, including cross-sectoral cooperation and active involvement of local communities.
As part of the monitoring visit, the project team also held meetings with female graduates of vocational courses and beneficiaries of business initiative support in the Ishonch and Mevazor mahallas.
Success stories of women who started their own businesses after completing the courses were presented.
The events confirmed the importance of a partnership-based approach and the need to continue joint efforts to promote gender-transformative approaches at the community level.
