DVV International, in partnership with NGO "Mehrjon" in Uzbekistan, Public Association "Youth of Osh" in Kyrgyzstan, and Public Organisation "Saodat" in Tajikistan, is implementing a Capacity Building Program in Peacebuilding and Cross-Border Cooperation as part of the ‘TRUST – TogetheR Unite efforts for regional StabiliTy’ project. This initiative, which began in October of this year and will last for 8 months, is designed to enhance the capabilities of non-profit organizations and initiative groups in the Fergana Valley, focusing on fostering peacebuilding and promoting cross-border collaboration.
Following an open competition, we selected 16 registered non-commercial and non-governmental organizations and 8 initiative groups from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan to participate in this comprehensive program. In total, 24 organizations and groups are receiving tailored training and support aimed at empowering them to contribute more effectively to peace and stability in the region.
As part of the program, the following were conducted:
- Workshops on Peacebuilding and Conflict Sensitivity: Participants were introduced to key concepts and practices for fostering peace and managing conflicts effectively.
- Workshop on Project Development and Design Thinking: Focused on equipping participants with practical skills in social project planning and innovative thinking.
Upcoming Activities:
- Training on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and Risk Assessment (RA): Participants will gain hands-on experience in community-based appraisal and risk management methods.
- Networking Meetings and Experience Sharing: Opportunities for participants to connect, collaborate, and exchange insights across borders.
Additional Benefits for Participants:
- Networking Opportunities: The program fosters regional cooperation, allowing participants to establish connections with like-minded organizations and initiative groups across borders.
- Project Development and Implementation Support: Participants gain the necessary skills and guidance to develop and implement impactful projects within their communities.
- Experience Sharing: Participants are also encouraged to join regional events within the project to share experiences, learn from peers, and build stronger collaborative networks.
This program is a unique opportunity for organizations and initiative groups in the Fergana Valley to strengthen their capacities in addressing cross-border challenges, promoting peace, and driving sustainable development in the region.
