On 21 June 2026, the final module of the international Curriculum GlobALE programme was successfully completed in the Issyk-Kul region. As part of the programme, 20 vocational training instructors from vocational lyceums in the Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions, together with staff members of the Republican Scientific and Methodological Centre, successfully completed the full training programme in adult education.
Today's labour market is evolving faster than ever before. New technologies, digitalisation and the transformation of occupations require continuous learning not only from employees, but also from those who teach them. In this context, being an expert in one's professional field is no longer sufficient. Equally important is the ability to work effectively with adult learners, taking into account their experience, motivation and practical learning needs.
These are precisely the issues addressed by Curriculum GlobALE—an internationally recognised standard for the professional development of adult educators. The final module served not only as a comprehensive assessment of the competencies acquired by participants, but also demonstrated how modern adult learning approaches can be integrated into Kyrgyzstan's vocational education system.
Over the course of two days, participants delivered their own mini-training sessions on a wide range of topics, from financial literacy and entrepreneurship to craft-based and technical professions. However, the primary focus of the assessment was not the subject matter itself, but participants' ability to apply the principles of andragogy: engaging adult learners, using interactive teaching methods, facilitating feedback, and creating practice-oriented learning environments.
One of the programme's greatest strengths is its practical orientation. Participants not only study contemporary adult learning methodologies but immediately apply them in practice while receiving professional feedback from peers and experts. The final assessment demonstrated a high level of competence acquisition: most participants received excellent evaluations for their training sessions and confirmed their readiness to implement new approaches in their everyday professional practice.
The completion of Curriculum GlobALE is more than a personal achievement for its graduates. It is also an important contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan's adult education system, where the quality of education is increasingly measured not by the amount of knowledge transmitted, but by educators' ability to help people learn throughout their lives.
