The first day of festival “Creation of learning territories and innovations in adult learning and education to accelerate the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan”

Recently, in Samarkand, the festival “Creation of learning territories and innovations in adult learning and education to accelerate the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan” has finished. The event was organized by partners - the Republican Center for Socio-Economic Development "SABR", the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and DVV International Uzbekistan with the support of ministries and departments of the country motivated to promote adult learning and education in Uzbekistan.

Recently, in Samarkand, the festival “Creation of learning territories and innovations in adult learning and education to accelerate the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan” has finished. The event was organized by partners - the Republican Center for Socio-Economic Development "SABR", the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations and DVV International Uzbekistan with the support of ministries and departments of the country motivated to promote adult learning and education in Uzbekistan.

October 21 and 22 became a real holiday: conference, fair, photo exhibition, master classes, and discussions of experts from Uzbekistan, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, which were attended by more than 160 people from the state, non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of UNESCO and the Institute for Lifelong Learning, Hamburg (via video link ) were devoted to the discussion of the concepts of "learning city", "learning region", "learning community", "learning society", "learning organization" are very relevant for Сеntral Asia countries.

Samarkand was not accidentally chosen as the venue for the events. The city administration has applied to join the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, which now has 294 cities from 76 countries. Future Samarkand is a city that effectively mobilizes its resources in all areas to promote inclusive learning; revives learning in families and communities; promotes on-the-job training; expands the use of modern learning technologies; improves the quality of learning and promotes a culture of lifelong learning.

The conference was opened on October 21 as a moderator and speaker by Mr. Bakhodir Khamidovich Umurzakov, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He noted the importance of interaction between state and non-state organizations in the field of adult education and training, especially between the Ministry and NGO "SABR" in the fruitful implementation of the state social order. Active participation in the conference was taken by: Mr. Uwe Gartenschlaeger (Deputy Director of the DVV International Head Office), Ms. Thekla Kelbert, (Regional Director of DVV International for Central Asia), Ms. Mavlyudakhon Shirinova (Director of the NGO "SABR"), Mr. Murodullo Kholmukhamedov (Director of the Labor Market Research Institute under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations), Ms. Sadokat Siddikova (Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and others.

The first day of the festival ended with a reception at which the winners of photo and handicraft exhibition were awarded.
