Objectives of the action

Optimization of the library space for teaching adults and youth, expanding access to non-formal adult education on the basis of public libraries in Kyrgyzstan.

Creation of Adult Teaching Centers (ATCs) for organizing training and club activities in various directions, based on the situational needs of the local population, where the library is located.

Description of project activities

At the meso level:

1. Training on SMM promotion of libraries
2. Study trips "Exchange of experience after 5 years" - Jalalabad city, Zhalabad regional library and Talas city, Talas regional library.
3. Training "Methods of effective communication for teaching adults in libraries"
4. Training "Psychological characteristics in adult education"
5. ToT "Parents' school"

At the micro level:

Organization of non-formal educational events for adults and youth.

Planned events:

1. Club activities in the CEC at the request of the local community on whose territory the library is located.

2. Conducting short-term courses for adults at the request of the local population, on the territory of which the target library is located.

3.Open day

4. Organization of lectures, public speaking on current topics.

Results

ATCs created in public libraries meet the mission of libraries - to provide access to education for the entire community and allow libraries to adapt to changes in society and become centers of non-formal education and learning.

The administration and staff of public libraries will continue to improve their professional level in conducting club classes and courses.

  Library space optimization will attract more adults for training and retraining.

  Adult learning centers in public libraries are places where the community can gather in an informal setting for recreation and learning together. Accordingly, the skills and abilities acquired in the ATCs increase the competitiveness of the adult population of the regions in the country's labor market.
