About the project
The project is implemented jointly by the NGO «Mekhrjon» and DVV International Uzbekistan, with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office.
The project goal:
To support and capacitate civil society organisations to protect the social, economic and cultural rights of labour migrants, rural women and their families, through establishment of mobile services and social partnership, mitigating the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the rural areas of the Fergana valley
Concrete objectives:
Planned activities:
In order to increase the synergy between civil society sector and government and business structures, the following activities are planned within the project: round tables, conferences, working group meetings.
Trainings on ‘Human Rights and Gender’, ‘Introduction into Adult Learning and Education’, ‘Innovative entrepreneurship’ will be delivered for civil society organizations and other interested stakeholders.
Special attention will be paid to increasing access to vocational courses for the target group in the remote areas through the creation of mobile services. Particularly, establishment of professional courses on ‘Sewing’, ‘Wicker weaving’, ‘IT Literacy’, ‘Milk processing’, as well as providing social services, psychological and medical support and consultation to mitigate negative consequences of COVID-19 in the rural areas of the Fergana Valley.
