On April 30 and May 1, Tashkent hosted an important event for the development of education in Central Asia - a Regional Workshop to share experiences and discuss cooperation to expand online Curriculum globALE training. The event was attended by experts in the field of adult learning and education from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The event was organized by DVV International country offices in Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Curriculum globALE (CG) is a universal standard for the training of andragogues (adult educators) worldwide, providing key skills and strategies for adult learning. The Curriculum globALE program, which started its journey in Uzbekistan in 2013 and then expanded to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, is being actively implemented with the support of non-governmental and public sector providers directly related to adult learning and education.
The participants of the workshop represented various educational and research institutions, such as Kyrgyz State University named after I. Arabayev, Osh State University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Institute for Development of Professional Education under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as civil society organizations from Tajikistan - Adult Education Association of Tajikistan, NGO “Khurshed” and NGO “Tomiris”.
One of the key topics of discussion was the possibility of holding joint scientific and practical conferences, workshops for graduates of the program and other events to promote the program of adult learning and education. Moreover, the idea of creating a regional online platform Curriculum globALE for distance learning of andragogy in state languages was discussed.
The regional workshop was an important step in the development of regional cooperation in the training of adult learning specialists in Central Asia. The participants agreed on further joint actions on experience exchange and regular interaction on further promotion of Curriculum globALE.
