The DVV International team in Uzbekistan began to carry out monitoring visits to organizations implementing projects in the framework of the Innovation Fund. The first trip took place on November 21-22 to Karakalpakstan, Nukus, where there was the opportunity to attend the "Safe Future" educational workshop for youth in difficult life situations aged 15 to 20 years as a part of the project implemented by the Republican Social Information Center "ISTIQBOLLI AVLOD" (department of the Republic of Karakalpakstan). Volunteers of the organization, representatives of the District Department of the Interior, Ministry of Labor and other government agencies who are long-term partners of the organization were involved in the workshop. The project plans to cover 200 young people of the Republic of Karakalpakstan with educational work, mainly from among the socially vulnerable groups of the population (youth in difficult life situations; children of migrant workers; adolescents registered at the Juvenile Affairs Inspectorate), in order to prevent extremism among young people and ensure safe use of the internet. The trainers conducted such sessions and mini-lectures as "Effective Communication", "The Concept of Extremism and Radicalism", "Trafficking in Persons, Illegal Migration, Youth and Extremism - what is common?", "Emotion Control", "Stress Resistance", "Empathy" and others. During the workshop, young people learned how recruiters find their victims, how not to succumb to their influence in social networks, how to resist recruitment technologies. The next monitoring trip is planned to Termez to attend activities on "Awareness is the key to success" Project, aimed at the promulgation of negative impacts of extremist ideas in local communities with involvement of clerical leaders in the three border areas of the Surkhandarya region.
